Our research on learning in digitalized work is directed towards four application areas.

Health & risk management

Description: Digitalization has been ongoing for a long time in the healthcare sector. At the moment there is a great interest at the borders of the caring sector, at the intersection of healthcare end and self-care. In this Theme/section of DigitaL we are interested in the interfaces between the healthcare sector and the patient, in the care taking place outside of the hospital with or without cooperation with a medical doctor. We are interested in empowering patient by so called patient engaging technologies. By designing, developing and studying technologies such as health information portals, self assement apps, video consultations services, digital anamnesis tools and peer-support communities we want to learn about the consequences of these technologies both for the patient and the healthcare sector. The following projects are active in the Healthcare theme:

Description: EfterCancern is part of a research project at the University of Gothenburg in close cooperation with the Jubilee Clinic at Sahlgrenska University Hospital (sv. Jubileumskliniken - Sahlgrenska Universitetssjukhus). The project aims to improve and develop the care of cancer survivors who received oncological treatment to the pelvic area, provide support and help to improve quality of life by strengthening self-care. The medical knowledge conveyed has largely been developed at the Department of Clinical Cancer Epidemiology. The solutions we present is based mainly on the research and the experience at the Unit for cancer rehabilitation at Jubilee Clinic.

The mobile phone as an integration tool for newcomers in Sweden

Description: Because of the large stream of refugees coming to Sweden, it is important to quickly acclimatised in society to be integrated. The project aims to develop mobile support for language development and intercultural communication for newcomers, so that they in a more personalized and time efficient manner becomes integrated into Swedish society. The goal is to create an educational coupling to achieve the learning effect that currently lack in mobile applications. The development of a mobile platform tailored to recipients 'needs, with the overall integration tool will enhance the newcomers' ability to more quickly and in a more targeted way integrated into society.
